Family. That is the first word we think of regarding The Grove at Midtown. Since we moved my mom in four months ago, we have been continually impressed with the quality of care everyone has shown my mom. By the first week, staff knew her by first name, all questions and requests have been promptly met, and the staff goes above and beyond our expectations taking a very personal approach to her care. The facilities are comfortable, pleasant, very navigable, impeccably clean and fresh smelling, and the activity directors are kind, fun-loving, and willing to go above and beyond. We are constantly telling ourselves how lucky we got when choosing The Grove.

I cannot say enough about how much The Grove staff ministered to my family in the time of need. They were helpful, kind, and respectful to my mother and helped us navigate through her last days of care. They treated us like family and demonstrated true compassion and understanding of our need to be heard and well-informed throughout the process. My husband and I were ready to move in ourselves to have such loving care and delicious meals! The Grove has been a tremendous blessing to us and we highly recommend it to all.

My partner (Dave S.) was admitted to Memory Care at The Grove on April 25th, after a very bad experience elsewhere in town. Being at the Grove has made all the difference. Upon his arrival two staff members greeted him at the front door, literally rolled out the red carpet, more staff welcomed him with hugs and cheers when he entered the building where several of our friends had joined us to make this a special day. In the three weeks he has been there, David has already participated in a fishing outing at a private lake outside Tulsa, been on a lunch outing with staff in BA, on "campus" attended a Cinco De Mayo celebration, a Mother's Day tea party and the Grove's first ever "mock prom party" where the dining room was turned into a dance floor with balloons, special lighting effects, a DJ, hors d'oeuvres, and dancing that brought tears to everyone's eyes. Residents in Assisted Living, as well as in Memory Care, were invited and assisted by staff (wearing prom dresses!) to "dance" in their wheelchairs or with their walkers. One staff member was seen holding a colostomy bag to allow a resident to dance with her husband who is a memory patient. It brought tears to our eyes! To see that much joy in a setting that in general tends to be depressing to say the least, was uplifting and a sign of how much this particular place is dedicated to "making lemonade from lemons". It takes a lot to make all that happen. The Grove seems dedicated to providing a "home" where residents feel cared for and valued, not treated as victims of their circumstances. It's a joyful setting. Services are designed around their own unique "Symphony of Life" program, which is relatively new and needs some fine-tuning but holds great promise. All in all, we cannot sing enough praises about The Grove. Tucked away in midtown Tulsa amidst a grove of trees, sits a treasure that offers the best of the best in town for seniors who need assisted living or memory care. How lucky we are! Thank you!!
