Leon Dehnke
Administrator

Leon Dehnke joined the HeatherWood community as Administrator in 2025, bringing over two decades of varied healthcare experiences as well as a genuine passion for helping improve the quality of life of others.
Having been raised in Eau Claire County on a dairy farm, one of Leon’s earliest childhood memories is being around elders in his community. Leon earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a Master of Science from the University of Idaho. Leon lived in Minnesota for the past two decades before deciding to return closer to home. He finds this career to be fulfilling, meaningful, and significant and can’t imagine working in anything other than a helping profession.
In his spare time, Leon loves sports, music, and travel. He also enjoys being outside and is active in his church community.
Megan Hoffman
Community Relations Director

Megan joined the HeatherWood team in December of 2024 as the Community Relations Director. She is a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in finance. She brings a wealth of skills to her role, including expertise in data analysis, accounting, and organizational management. It is evident how naturally her interpersonal skills shine through in her interactions with others. She makes meaningful connections in the community and manages the sales and marketing for the team. Megan grew up in Fall Creek, WI and now resides in Elk Mound, WI where she married her husband, Joe. Megan is a proud mama to her two boys who keep her busy outside of work. Her hobbies consist of spending time with her family, DIY projects, being up at the lake, hunting and harvesting her home-grown pumpkins in the fall.
Amanda Wagner
Wellness Director

Amanda Wagner was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is an experienced health care worker who began her career in 2007 and has since dedicated herself to the field. Throughout her career, Amanda has worked in many diverse settings, providing compassionate support and skilled care to patients with a variety of needs. Her background reflects strong clinical knowledge, adaptability, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for those she serves.
Zachary Schultz
Dining Services Director

Zachary joined the HeatherWood team in July 2024 as the Dining Service Director, bringing over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry since starting his career in the early 2000s. He has a strong foundation in Culinary Arts, having studied at Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie. Additionally, Zachary pursued Criminal Justice studies at Globe University, showcasing his diverse academic background.
With a deep passion for the culinary arts, Zachary takes great pride in knowing that the food he creates and serves brings joy to others. His dedication to his craft is matched only by his commitment to his family. Zachary is a proud father of three—Jayden, Amika, and Aria—and considers family to be his greatest priority.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Zachary embraces the values of service, integrity, and gratitude. He enjoys spending time outdoors, sharing meals with family and friends, and is profoundly thankful for the blessings in his life.
Sara Kins
Life Enrichment Director

Sara is our Life Enrichment Director and joined the team in January 2026. She is passionate about keeping residents engaged through fulfilling and meaningful activities that enrich daily life. Sara attended UW–Stout from 1999 to 2003 and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
She loves spending time in nature, especially fishing with her son, and is an avid reader. Music is another one of her greatest passions—whether it’s karaoke, playing piano or clarinet, enjoying opera and orchestra performances, or simply listening to the radio, she loves every moment of it.
Sara has always had a heart for helping others and finds joy in empowering people to live their best lives. Family is especially important to her, and she values the strong roots they have given her. She enjoys gathering regularly with loved ones to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and special moments together.
Trevor Porembo
Maintenance Director

Trevor is the go-to person for keeping our community running smoothly. Whether it’s a light bulb that needs replacing, an appliance issue, or a maintenance request in an apartment, Trevor is always ready to help with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving skills. As a motivated self-starter, he brings a wide range of hands-on experience to the team, including five years in healthcare maintenance, construction experience, and 15 years in metal fabrication. He takes pride in making sure residents feel comfortable and safe.
A graduate of Amery High School, he now lives in Blair, WI. Trevor enjoys tackling challenges and helping others whenever he can. When he’s not busy around the community, he enjoys fishing, working on projects in his garage, and spending time playing sports with his three sons.
